Wenvoe Castle

Course Description

Wenvoe Castle Golf Club is set in the scenic countryside in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan. And was designed by five times Open winner James Braid. The golf course is a regular for many returning golfers on a golf break to Cardiff. The course comprises two loops of nine holes each beginning and ending near the imposing 18th Century Mansion House.

The first nine holes enjoy an undulating terrain leading to spectacular views across the Bristol Channel. In contrast the second nine are relatively flat. But a carefully phased introduction of tree planting has ensured an interesting yet fair challenge.

The finishing three holes, all par 4โ€™s are particularly demanding. Especially when the prevailing westerly winds blow. However, the final hole will probably be the one remembered. Not only for its golfing challenge but also the spectacular setting. The imposing clubhouse acts as a magnificent and fitting backdrop to the 18th green.
