Your Hotel(s)

Kings Head

Ideally situated for Monmouth Golf Course and the Rolls of Monmouth GC, this recently refurbished hotel offers good standard accommodation at excellent rates from right in the heart of the centre of town.

This is a grade II listed building, originally a 17th-century coaching inn.

Monmouth is a Welsh-border market town at the confluence of the Rivers Wye, Monnow and Trothy. With its bustling main street, it makes a great destination for a break. Perhaps best known as the birthplace of Henry V, Monmouth boasts a whole host of historical sites, people and buildings, from the Nelson Gardens to the town hall. It has a medieval 13th-century bridge over the River Monnow, unique in Britain, as it is the only preserved bridge of its design remaining.

Your Course(s)

The Rolls of Monmouth

This championship parkland course is quite simply outstanding. It is situated under the distant gaze of the Black Mountains and boasts a wide range of trees and other plant life. Set in 600 acres of woodland this course will allow you to take your punishment in peace and tranquility with only the odd deer to disturb you.

Monmouthshire

A great addition to any golf break to Wales. Monmouthshire Golf Club is located under the Sugar Loaf Mountain occupying a lovely stretch of countryside along the river Usk.

Founded in 1892 and designed by James Braid this course is as tough as it is beautiful. Characterised by 3 consecutive par 5’s on the front 9 and 4 strong par 3’s on the back 9.

The Monmouthshire golf course is bound to captivate the established golfer of all playing abilities. A little gem!

Woodlake Park

A great addition to a Wales golf break, Woodlake Park course overlooks the spectacular Llandegfedd reservoir. The challenging championship standard course has a par and standard scratch of 72. The golf course is well known for its superb receptive greens which are always in excellent condition.

Opened in 1993, the course has matured quickly and the quality of both fairways and greens make this one of the finest inland golf courses in Wales. The greens, including the practice greens, were all constructed to the U.S.Golf Association specifications and are truly one of the major assets of the course.

Laid out on naturally undulating landscape, the course offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities. All eighteen holes, named after birds frequenting the reservoir, are different and provide a unique test throughout with the par 3 holes being of particular note.

The course has quickly attained a reputation for its overall quality with the greens being renowned for their trueness and speed. Indeed, Woodlake has hosted many National, County and regional PGA events in its relatively short history.
