Your Course(s)
Nairn Golf Club
Founded in 1887 by Robert B Finlay, Nairn is consistently ranked amongst the leading courses in the UK.
The Club has been very fortunate, and indeed honoured, to have held an array of amateur golf tournaments. The Club is one of only nine who have held the Walker Cup, Curtis Cup, the Amateur Championship and the Women’s Amateur Championship.
The Amateur Championship returned to Nairn for the second time in 2021, culminating in one of the most exciting finals in its 126-year history. Laird Shepherd of Rye GC defeating Monty Scowsill of Woodbridge GC at the 38th hole having been seven down after 18 holes.

Tain Golf Club
Tain Golf Club is steeped in history, dating back to 1889 when the legendary Grand Old Man of Golf, Tom Morris, was invited by locals to design a course in the area where the game of golf was born hundreds of years before.
Visitors and locals alike get a warm Highland welcome when they come to tee off at Tain today. Difficult hazards and deep pot bunkers make for a varied, fun and challenging round that can be enjoyed by beginners and seasoned players alike.
Tain Golf Course has the advantage of being in the same neighbourhood as the internationally renowned Tom Morris designed links course at Royal Dornoch Golf Club, which consistently tops the list of the World’s top 100 Golf Courses.
Our neighbour on the opposite side of the Firth may be more famous, but we attract plenty of interest from golfers who come to play Royal Dornoch and can’t resist taking a swing at Tain too.
The courses are complementary, share a similar setting and views, and each is iconic in its own way, so no touring golfer can forego the opportunity to play both.

Royal Dornoch (Championship Course)
Royal Dornoch Golf Club is undoubtedly a member of the exclusive band of legendary links courses that enthusiasts flock to Scotland for. The Championship Course is ranked inside the country’s top ten and has had Royal status for over a century.
The town of Dornoch is steeped in history and there is evidence of golf being played here over two Centuries before the club was founded in 1877. Old Tom Morris extended the course to 18 holes in 1889 with John H Taylor making a few changes to Old Tom’s layout a few years later.
After the Second World War the Championship course was split in two and incorporated into the Ladies Course to create the Struie with George Duncan adding some extra holes to create the Royal Dornoch Championship links we see today.
Royal Dornoch provides links golf as it should be, accompanied with stunning views across the Dornoch Firth, by far one of the best courses to play on any tour of the Scottish Highlands.
