Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club

Located on the Chanonry Peninsula in the ‘Black Isle’ our Scottish Links Championship Golf Course enjoys breathtaking views over the Moray Firth, only 20 minutes from the City of Inverness. Our Championship links course is the 15th Oldest Recorded Club in the World (1793). The course was re-designed by the five time Open Champion James Braid in 1932.

Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club were presented with the award of Scotland’s Best Golf Course/Venue in our category at the Scottish Golf Tourism AwardsMarch 2024 (also winners in 2017 & 2018).  The Club was also short-listed alongside Cruden Bay, the Machrie and Nairn Golf Club for Scotland’s Best Course/Experience in the £100-£250 category as part of the 2025 Scottish Golf Tourism Awards.  Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Links also hosted the World Hickory Open Championship – October 2024.

The course ranks amongst the Top 30 in GB & Ireland’s Favourite ‘Fun’ Golf Courses, which are guaranteed to entertain and captivate (there are over 2,000 courses in Great Britain & Ireland).  Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Links is also ranked amongst the Top 50 Golf Courses in Scotland (Golf World).

Tain Golf Club

Tain Golf Club is steeped in history, dating back to 1889 when the legendary Grand Old Man of Golf, Tom Morris, was invited by locals to design a course in the area where the game of golf was born hundreds of years before.

Visitors and locals alike get a warm Highland welcome when they come to tee off at Tain today. Difficult hazards and deep pot bunkers make for a varied, fun and challenging round that can be enjoyed by beginners and seasoned players alike.

Tain Golf Course has the advantage of being in the same neighbourhood as the internationally renowned Tom Morris designed links course at Royal Dornoch Golf Club, which consistently tops the list of the World’s top 100 Golf Courses.

Our neighbour on the opposite side of the Firth may be more famous, but we attract plenty of interest from golfers who come to play Royal Dornoch and can’t resist taking a swing at Tain too.

The courses are complementary, share a similar setting and views, and each is iconic in its own way, so no touring golfer can forego the opportunity to play both.
